THE mayor welcomed special guest Dami Im, winner of this year's X Factor, to the 2013 Christmas Brunch on Wednesday.

During the event Ms Im was presented with the keys to the city.

Addressing the crowd, Ms Im said her family had lived in Logan for 14 years, at Daisy Hill.

"After school, mum would take us to the hyperdome," she said.

Ms Im said another favourite place to go was Daisy Hill Forest.

Proving she is just like the rest of us, Ms Im said when she started dating her now husband Noah, her parents caught them on the front driveway having a 'cuddle'.

"It was awkward, but it's part of the fond memories I have of Logan," she said.

Ms Im stressed that Logan kids could be whatever they wanted to be, and she hoped to inspire them to follow their dreams.
