John Paul College cheerleaders bring it
JOHN Paul College's cheerleaders showed they could really 'bring it on' after their recent wins at the World Cup Cheer and Dance Asia Pacific Grand Finals.
The event, which ran over two action packed filled days, saw teams from around the country and overseas show off their best cheer, pom, jazz and hip hop routines.
The teams competed in various divisions such as dance, cheer and pom routines with the school winning 13 awards.
Head Director of cheer and dance at John Paul College Kylie Pocklington said she was proud of all the teams.
John Paul College was also named Grand Champion School team for Jazz, Hip Hop, Pom, Level 2 Non Tumbling Cheer and Level 3 Cheer.
Miss Pocklington said the standard was extremely high at this World Cup Cheer and Dance International competition.
"In the different genres the dance judges are looking for a polished sharp, synchronised routine with intricate steps and a polished performance," she said.
In addition to their winnings, the Supernova team also received a partial paid bid to compete at the World School Cheerleading Championships in Florida in 2012 or 2013.
