FLIPPING through the Australian Financial Review is not something Yeppoon's Anita Rennick usually does, but it helped her come up with a great idea to sell the family home.
Anita and husband Brett created their dream home at 95 Todd Ave, Yeppoon, in 1995 and lived there for 10 years.
But their careers have taken them in a different direction, forcing them to say goodbye to their beloved house.
Thinking about the best way to market their unique, three-storey dwelling, Anita read a story in the Australian Financial Review that led to her establishing a website, yeppoonhouse.com, and launching her own social media campaign to help market the house.
The property, being sold through Yeppoon Real Estate, will feature on today's front page of The Bulletin's Domain supplement.
"This guy from Melbourne, who worked in social media, thought of designing a webpage for his house he was selling, and after reading it I thought, this could be a really good idea," Anita said.
"So I contacted a few places in Brisbane and Matt Cooper, from Alpha Digital, was the only one to get back to me and he said, 'you know, I don't why anyone hasn't thought of this yet'."
So the past two months was spent creating the campaign specifically for the beachfront property with Alpha Digital creating a link to prospective buyers.
"I just thought what would be the best way to show this house to people who wouldn't otherwise see it, like people who are looking for a sea change," Anita said. "It's something that adds to the traditional way of selling a home."
The luxurious home will be auctioned on site, 11am on June 2.
