THE girls from BDS Logan Thunder are throwing their support behind The Reporter's third annual Adopt-A-Family appeal.

For the past three years The Reporter has run the appeal in conjunction with community groups which nominate families who need an extra hand this Christmas.

This week we have teamed up with Logan Thunder in a bid to collect even more Christmas donations.

At the home game this Sunday, November 25, people are asked to bring along items to contribute to the hampers, including food and gifts.

Thunder general manager Phil Binder said the team members were all community minded, and jumped at the chance to get behind the appeal.

"When this opportunity came up to partner with The Reporter, we thought it was a great thing," he said.

"Our team does a lot of community work, and the girls are really excited to be behind the appeal."

Mr Binder said at the home game, which would see the Logan Thunder play Sydney Uni Flames, a number of collection points would be set up.

Donations can include items such as long life milk and custard, Christmas cake, pudding, tinned vegetables, toiletries and gifts.

Please remember all items needs to be sealed and unopened; please do not gift wrap them.

Across Logan 87 disadvantaged families need to be adopted this Christmas.

The appeal finishes on December 12, if you can help please phone 3457 4100.
