TRAVIS Passier and his Australian men's volleyball team has the perfect way to respond to their opening round loss to Argentina at the London Olympic Games.

The Volleyroos dropped their opening pool match in three sets to world No.8 Argentina in the early hours of yesterday morning (AEST).

Australian now takes on Great Britain, who at 92nd in the world, are the only nation in the 12-team men's volleyball competition ranked below the Volleyroos.

Taking on the host nation at the Olympics in any sport can always be tough but the world No.22 Australians will still fancy their chances when they meet in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Toowoomba talent Passier and his team mates could not start their Olympic campaign off with an upset win as the eighth-ranked Argentines won 25-21, 25-22, 25-20 in straight sets.

Volleyroos coach Jon Uriarte, who's son Nicolas is part of the Argentinian squad but did not play against Australia, was happy with how his team came together in the lead-up to the Games but wants more from them against Great Britain.

"To win matches we have to be 100 per cent very aggressive and very determined," he said on the Australian team's website. "Our challenge from here is to keep improving and put more energy and determination into our game."

Meanwhile, Toowoomba's Hope Munro and her Hockeyroos squad will be desperate for victory over world No.3 Germany early tomorrow morning.

An opening pool round loss to New Zealand means the Hockeyroos have a tough road ahead if they are to make the semi-finals and have a chance at securing an Olympic medal.
