TWELVE-year-old Jayden Hoskins has found the best way to get out of having haircuts.
He asked his mother 12 months ago if he could do the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave and has been preparing for the task by staying clear of the barber’s chair ever since.
“We’ve saved on haircuts,” his mum, Caralyn, joked.
Now with his long, flowing locks on the line, Jayden is excited to go completely bald with his whole school watching on.
The year seven Carbrook State School student has organised to do the shave at school, and a free dress day will be held to help him reach his fundraising goal of $500.
D-Day will be March 8, at 9.30am, and if Jayden is even just a little bit scared about facing the razor he is definitely not showing it.
He is already saying that if his hair grows back by this time next year, he wants to do the shave again.
Jayden said he first got the idea to do the shave when his granny lost her hair last year when she went through chemotherapy.
She is now recovering from her breast cancer.
