Grand birthday

IVY Sexton must be an incredible woman.

She is the reason why Jack Sexton believes he reached the grand age of 100 last week.

Celebrating the milestone at Tall Trees Supported Living at Rochedale South last week, Mr Sexton credited his life’s longevity to his wife.

“It’s about being around good women,” he said smiling.

Mr Sexton’s daughter, Jan, said he was a fortunate man.

“He had a heart attack when he was in his 80s and was a social smoker for many years,” she said.

“But he has a healthy diet and hasn’t ever been a big drinker.

“He looks marvellous for his age. People often say he looks like he’s in his early 90s.”

With two children and four grandchildren, Mr Sexton said he still had a lot to live for.

“I’m looking forward to my 115th birthday,” he said.
