Students show off their style

BORONIA Heights State School will celebrate their 20th birthday in style, with Snow White, 1920s dancers and a talent competition.

Heralding their 20 years of education milestone, the school is having a week long celebration starting next Monday, which will focus on the performing arts.

As part of this performance spectacular, the upper school is putting on a musical called Snow White in New York, which looks sure to be entertaining with the characters of Daddy Cool, Sly and Ma Mirror (pictured) making an appearance.

Principal Carole Reed said there would also be chances for the public to be involved.

Next Wednesday, September 8, they will hold an official assembly which Ms Reed said would be a “trip down memory lane”.

The school's first principal, groundsman and P&C president will attend and there will also be a memorabilia display.

The week will culminate on Friday afternoon, September 10, with the school opening from 3.30pm to 5.30pm to the public, with past students able to walk through and revisit their old school days.

To top it all off, the final of ‘Boronia's Got Talent' will be held at 4.15pm, with auditions held at the school last week.

Ms Reed said they decided to focus on the performing arts during the 20th anniversary celebration because it was something a little bit different for the children which also highlighted their talents.
