TRENT Broadhurst has declared the pink boxing trunks are here to stay and local fans can get their first look of them up close this Friday night.

The exciting Underwood prospect has promised his fans action galore when he goes up against fellow Queenslander, Marlon Toby this Friday night at Mansfield Tavern.

This will be the 22-year-old's first fight in Brisbane since turning pro earlier this year and Broadhurst said he couldn't wait.

“I've fought at Mansfield Tavern as an amateur and the atmosphere there is awesome,” he buzzed.

“My first pro fight in Sydney was great so I can't wait for my first pro fight at Mansfield.

“I hope I can put on a show for my family and friends that are coming to watch me fight.”

Broadhurst and Toby will trade blows for four rounds on the undercard of the Brett Smith and Jason Crowe Australian Lightweight Title bout.

Despite the super middleweight making a sensational professional debut in July, knocking out Kalolo Faatua in the second round, Broadhurst was determined to keep improving.

“There's always room for improvement,” Broadhurst, who is a full-time labourer at Formwell Construction, said.

“I've just been training hard and looking to fix little indiscretions.

“In the first round of that fight (against Faatua) I was a bit tense and throwing a lot of single power shots, but in training we worked on setting up for the big shot.

“So I've been working a lot on that and a lot on my balance because professional boxing is a lot different to the amateurs.”

It wasn't just Broadhurst's devastating straight right knockout punch that sent Faatua crashing to the canvas that caught people's attention.

Broadhurst strutted into the ring wearing salmon pink boxing trunks.

The Logan Boxing Team pugilist said he intended to dish the pants after his first fight, but has revealed that he will continue to don the unique coloured trunks.

“They're staying,” Broadhurst bluntly stated about the pink trunks.

“I've had people come up to me because they recognise me from the pink shorts.

“I've heard some say ‘how good was that guy in the pink trunks' following my first fight.”
