Magical masquerade evening

THE theme may have been “masquerade and mystique”, but there was no hiding the true meaning behind the 2010 Logan Mayoress' Community Service Committee Annual Gala Dinner and Show Fundraiser.

Held at the Logan Entertainment Centre on Saturday, the annual event is the highlight of the committee's fundraising calendar with all proceeds going to help provide much-needed support for Logan-based charities.

And again this year Logan dug deep with more than $40,000 raised on the evening through sponsorships, ticket sales, raffles and auctions.

Logan Mayor, Pam Parker, said she was delighted to see approximately 450 people pack the centre to support Logan-based charities and enjoy a night of live entertainment from Attori and dance the night away to the tunes of Oz Horns.

“It was a wonderful evening and it was a joy to be in a room with so many community-minded people who are committed to doing what they can to help those in need throughout our city,” she said.

“I sincerely thank all the members of the community who attended and the generous sponsors who so willingly offered to assist the committee and make the evening the outstanding success it was - without them the event could not have happened.

“And again, I want to make special mention of the fantastic members of the Logan Mayoress' Community Service Committee who did such an outstanding job throughout the year raising funds to assist community organisations who are truly making a difference in the lives of others.”
