FELLAS, did you know the most romantic day of the day is fast approaching?

Now before you race to the calendar while desperately trying to think of that perfect gift for your special someone, florist Fleur De Thier has some helpful hints which may be able to help you surprise your other half.

The owner of All's Rosy Florist at Browns Plains said every girl would love to receive flowers on Valentine's Day.

"Flowers are so special because it's Mother Nature at her best," she said.

"They are receiving something that has been perfectly created and in turn that is being given to them."

Mrs De Thier said she was expecting an influx of rose deliveries on February 14.

"Roses are always going to be the most romantic present you can give because when you see red roses, you think romance and love," she said.

"And the best way to give her flowers is to send them to her work which makes a real impact so she can show them off and it tells everyone that she is loved."

Having worked as a florist for more than 15 years, Mrs De Thier said she had also seen an increase in the number of men receiving flowers from their partners.

"Women do send flowers to their partners, which may be a single rose, teddy bears or balloons," she said.

"And the guys I have spoken to really do like it."
