Need to address the reversal in the nation's fortune

THE other day I watched a politician, the Premier of South Australia, say that he will build a gas-fired power station in South Australia to guarantee the reliability of power.

Does Weatherill hope to convince SA people that his answer is the future for SA electricity for the state?

He recently blew up two coal-fired stations and mothballed gas-fired power-generation plants.

This bloke must be totally obsessed to such an extent with global warming, climate change and CO2 in the atmosphere it has rattled him.

Has he, as Premier, lost the power supply plot to such an extent that he is oblivious of the time before this RET garbage of the late 20th century?

Each state had its independence with electricity, gas, fossil fuel supply (oil refinery) and all states were self-reliant.

Has Weatherill, and other state and national leaders, forgotten this?

Before governments encouraged tertiary researchers and economists to advise on the the nation's future wants and needs, there was prosperity in all the states, and the nation since Federation had boomed.

It is only in the last three decades there has been a reversal in this nation's fortune.

So, readers, discover what we have lost because of poor governance and not understanding our wants and needs. Think about the ridiculous renewable energy rubbish and the abandonments of any discussion to replace fossil fuel power generation with modern super-critical coal/gas power station or nuclear.

Why is it that those over 60 years of age who have witnessed and lived a comfortable and prosperous time now endure the uncertainty of poor political leadership in very questionable future governance?

It is your future, not mine. I am 76 years old and beyond my productive used-by date, so take a serious look at your future because I see no gold pot at the end of the road Australia is now travelling.
